A choice of two Summer runs starting and finishing at the YMCA Hawker Centre (Kingston), proceeding towards the Thames Path on an out and back flat and fast scenic riverside route that is very well marked and marshalled all the way along. Both the half marathon and the marathon courses are both at and fast so were expecting some great PBs.

New for 2018, we have added a beast of a route. This is the toughest Inov-8 X Series route on our calendar, with over 2300m of elevation, it's 300m higher than the Inov-8 Snowdonia X Series event! That should give you some idea of the challenge that awaits you here in Devon.

We are sending you along part of The South West Coast Path which is England's longest waymarked long-distance footpath and a National Trail. It stretches for 630 miles (1,014 km), running from Minehead in Somerset, along the coasts of Devon and Cornwall, to Poole Harbour in Dorset. Since it rises and falls with every river mouth, it is also one of the more challenging trails. The total height climbed has been calculated to be 114,931 ft (35,031 m), almost four times the height of Mount Everest

The route starts at Caffyns Farm and heads along the coast path at Lynton, you will be met with towering cliffs and stunning sea views across to South Wales. Soak up the stunning sounds of seabirds nesting on the cliffs. As you venture along the coast you will enter the valley of rocks, a superb section of coast path well know for its herds of feral goats. This section is among the oldest Devonian rocks in north Devon and is highly fossil ferrous.

As you continue on your way you will become lost in the splendour. We take you to Foreland Point, a rocky headland which is the most northerly point along the Devon and Exmoor coastline.

The route then sweeps back inland towards some special forested sections that make you feel like you're back in the heart of Devon. One stand out area is Watersmeet, we know you will be enchanted by this section of the route. There are many other hidden gems on the Exmoor X Series event, we dont want to spoil it too much for you, so come and join us! The outdoors awaits...

The course is a single lap, traffic free route on closed roads and cycle paths or redways as they are known locally. It combines the tree lined City Centre boulevards with many miles of leafy surrounding suburbs, lake & canal side redways. Crowd support in the town is fantastic & plenty of groups out on the more rural sections as well.

The course is gently undulating with a short hill at mile 24 and has PB potential, but you have to work hard to earn it. Stadium finish is great, you will feel like a hero covering the last mile as you head in towards the finish line and you will receive a cracking medal as well.
We offer a Big Marathon experience with lots of entertainment en route to help motivate you and to attract crowds of spectators to cheer you on. On the event day, you will receive a premium event experience.

          THE UKs TOUGHEST HALF MARATHON
A scenic but tough Half Marathon set in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, starting and finishing in the village of Llanrwst which played host to the World Trail Running Championships in 2013. The park is a region of haunting beauty and grandeur, of wild rocky mountains, hidden valleys, cascading rivers, still glacial lakes and deep forests.
2018 sees the 7th running of this very scenic race, there were 700 runners who entered the 2017 race, feedback suggests everyone enjoyed the race with lots of comments about the tough hills, but they said that it made the course a challenge and gave them a sense of achievement.

This year we intend to make this Half Marathon not just a great race but a great event, we are working with the local community to ensure your race day or weekend is memorable and encourages you to return year on year. RunWales are proud of the events we organise, with the emphasis on the runners enjoyment of the whole event, this is what we expect as runners and so will provide for you.

Feedback from runners suggested it should be a little more challenging given the name Snowdonia Half Marathon so in 2016 listened and oh yes it is now more challenging, we have taken out the road to and from the village of Trefriw and re-routed you straight up to Lake Geirionydd, then up and over to Lake Crafnant and back down Trefriw and then up the 1:7 hill (Forest Hill) and back down to the finish via Gwydyr Castle, good luck guys, youll need it!!!
You will leave Llanrwst on race day and tell your Family, Friends and Colleagues I did it, I completed the Snowdonia Half Marathon
