Returning in 2018 the Owler Marathon, Half marathon and 10K on Sunday 25th November 2018, runners get the chance to test their legs again with this new two lap multi-terrain run, set in the great surroundings of Conningbrook Lakes Country Park while taking in the quiet roads of Brook. This event also includes the Owler Half marathon and 10K.
Test your navigation and strategy by entering one of the four off-road adventures we have organised. Using a waterproof 1:25,000 OS map which we provide, navigate trails and hills on foot and bike to collect as many check points as you can in the set time. You plan your own strategy and route, deciding how many CPs you want to visit and in what order. You will lose 1 point for each 30s you are late coming back. All checkpoints are worth 10 points each. Distance covered depends on how many checkpoints are visited, and depends entirely on your level of fitness, as well as your running/biking and map reading skills.

Returning to probably the fastest middle distance triathlon in the South East in 2019. New parking area for competitors and spectators plus a new run route.
Owler Tris offer middle distance plus standard triathlons, aquabikes and OWS.
The triathlons will start in Lydd Lake with a two lapped swim, before competitors ride a flat lapped bike route on scenic country roads through Lydd, Brooklands and Camber, before returning to transition at Lydd lake.
The 21K run section is flat four laps out and back route along paths around lake and surrounding paths. The standard run also follows the same route. You then head to cross the finish line in style.
Also on offer the Owler Aquabike both at half, standard and sprint distance.
We've had the nice wide cycle track at Betteshanger Country Park officially measured so that its a now a certified road marathon course and we thought that it would be nice to have one marathon a year that is specifically aimed at those runners who aren't the quickest and can't make usual road marathon times, are intimidated by quicker road marathons or simply prefer the smaller, friendly type events rather than more competitive ones.
We want to see people achieve things. To use us as a bridge to bigger and greater things or simply to stay in the game that one year longer. To do things that they thought that they never could or could do no more. The reality is that some folk are a bit slower, a bit older, a bit less confident than others. This is their marathon. It's about as straightforward as it possibly can be, it's not easy. No marathon is easy, its always 26 miles 385 yards, it's a long way. But the Betteshanger Marathon has an aid station every 2 miles, a line painted on the track to follow if you're worried about navigation, is pretty flat and has a near perfect wide tarmac surface.
This popular but challenging rural run returns again for the fourteenth year in 2018.
The Beckley 10K is run along the lanes around this pretty East Sussex village which is hilly in parts, although the home stretch is straight and largely downhill-ish, so a fast finish is guaranteed.
Runners of all standards welcome and there are medals, free beer and homemade cakes available for all finishers. All race profits go to Beckley Village Centre.
A 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk, will be taking place alongside the main 10K race at 11:00 am, and also a short Children's Race, will be taking place at 10:45 am. Entries for both races are available on the day of the race.
The race is generously sponsored by M & S Electrical and you can find details of their services here.
The Deal Castle 5 Mile offers an accurately-measured, fast and flat promenade race. Organised by Deal Tri Club this popular race starts and finishes on Deal seafront and, with the right weather conditions, PBs are definitely on the cards!
A Junior 1000m race is also available.
A high quality trail run on the Kent Coast between Thanet and Sandwich lays a big bay called Pegwell Bay which is famous for two reasons, firstly because of the nationally important Sandwich and Pegwell Bay National Nature Reserve and secondly for the Viking Ship, The Hugin, that rests there in all its recently restored glory. We've been fortunate enough to have been given permission to hold an event on part of this area known as the Pegwell Bay Country Park.
The Hugin holds a special fondness for myself as it was one of the favourite places that my late father would take me to as a child, in the dim and distant past you could climb on the ship, eat your ice cream and be a Viking! Sadly these days clamboring over such things isn't allowed, but it has been nicely restored in the last decade or so and is well worth a look, a good few times in fact as the route will go past it twice on each lap! The event will have a six hour time limit for you to run as many, or as few laps as you wish. With a timed event, as long as you complete one lap, then you are an official finisher!
