We are excited to announce the BRAND NEW Hillsborough Castle Running Festival, including family races, a 5k, a 10k, and a half marathon! Come and run the inaugural event at Hillsborough Castle on Sunday 18th August 2019 and take the opportunity to race around this unique location!
Come and enjoy the day with us; we hope to see you there!
Situated on the world famous Antrim Coast Road you will find BallyGallys award winning beach, nestled under the Sallagh Braes and home to the historic BallyGally Castle.
Views of the infamous North channel and the Mull of Kintyre will meet you as you stand ready for a running beach start into the chilly waters of BallyGally.
This ultra marathon will start at noon, and runners will have 1 hour to complete the first 4.2 mile loop and be at the start line ready to go again at 1pm, then again at 2pm and so on. Any runner not finished inside the time limit and at the start ready to go again will be disqualified. This will happen every hour until there's only one runner at the start line. This runner must complete a solo loop inside the time limit to be crowned the winner. All runners with the exception of the winner will be an official DNF(did not finish) and will get a medal to prove it! Any competitor still in the race at 24hrs (100.8 miles) will receive a medal. This race is not about being the fastest! Pacing is everything!
