Try something new and take on this exciting nighttime triathlon based in Dartford, a unique event in the UK. With a range of distances to choose from, this event welcomes all abilities.
Swim
  • Full: 4 x 950m laps
  • Half: 2 x 950m laps
  • Quarter one 950m lap
The lake was 18 degrees last year. You will all have different coloured swim caps. This is so you will know who you are racing against.
Bike
  • Full: 26 laps
  • Half: 13 laps
  • Quarter 6 laps
Run
  • Full: 8 laps for 42.2k
  • Half: 4 laps 21.1k
  • Quarter 2 laps 10.5 k.

Parking
Parking will be at the Crosswater Lake View House, Rennie Drive, Dartford Kent, DA1 5FU. Make sure to park in the bays and not on the pavement. Parking is limited so car share where possible.
Spectator Parking
Spectator parking is at the Premier Inn. You must enter the details of your car in the parking machine.
There will be some parking on the side roads but please do not block any driveways or someone's car parking spaces.
Event day logistics

17:00 Race Briefing
17:30 Half Distance, Quarter Distance, and Midnight Man Relay start
18:00 Midnight Man Long Course, Aqua Bike Long, Sprint Triathlon, Half Relay and Aqua Bike Quarter start
First Aid
The first aid tent will be located at registration. There will also be 2 paramedics and 2 first aiders on site during the race. If you feel unwell seek help.
Rest Area
There will be a rest area after the race if you would like to sleep for a few hours once you have finished.
Kit List
  • Lights on your bike for the Full and half
  • Speedo so you can keep an eye on how far you cycled.
  • There will be a lap counter on the bike
  • You will be given a Aid bag at registration to store things you need during the race.
Rules
  • Drafting: This is a non-drafting event. There will be marshals monitoring drafting throughout the race. Those caught drafting will receive penalties.
  • Safety Boats: Do not grab hold of the marshal boat as you may endanger the water safety crew
  • Relay: If you are taking part in the Relay race make sure to hand your timing chip over to your teammate when you finish your leg of the race.
  • Race Number: Your race number must be worn on your back for the bike stage and on the front for the run stage.
  • Pedestrians: Some pedestrians maybe crossing during the event so make sure to be aware
  • Rubbish Please don’t drop your cups or jells out on the run course. There will be bins at the security building and 100m past the main feed station. Or give them to marshals that you see on the course.

Spectator Info
The course is spectator friendly as possible due to it making use of the multi-lap format. There will be plenty of areas where you can watch the race. Please keep the noise low if you are near any houses.

Are there no overtaking zones at the Midnight Man?
Yes, there is a no overtaking zone. This runs all along the road by Transition and the feed station.

Where can I dispose of my gels and water cups at the Midnight Man?
Please don’t drop your cups or jells out on the run course. There will be bins at the security building and 100m past the main feed station. Or give them to marshals that you see on the course.

Is drafting allowed at the Midnight Man?
There will be no drafting on the bike. Motorcycle marshals shall be monitoring drafting throughout the race.
