As well as giving you the opportunity to go for a PB on a fast flat 20 mile course, this event may be useful to many who are planning on competing in a spring marathon - it will give you a good indication of how well your training is going and what time you are likely to achieve on the big day. The 20 km option gives runners the opportunity to try a new race length or use it for Half Marathon or Marathon training. We are keeping the entry limit to 500 as we did last year. This event is a few weeks before Brighton Marathon, Manchester and the Great Welsh and of course well placed for London, Blackpool, Stratford (Shakespeare) and Newport. The 20 mile option is a two-lap flat course in lovely countryside close to the river Severn. The 20 km option takes in one lap of pretty much the same course. There is a cut-off time for the 20 mile route of 4 hours.Access to the event HQ is on quiet roads and is only 6 miles from junction 14 of the M5. There is ample (hard standing) parking and the start of both courses are no more than 400m from the event HQ, which has good toilet facilities, changing and a baggage store. On the 20 mile route there will be 6 water stations giving bottled water - three different locations on the route that you pass twice and then a further one at the end. On the 20km route there will be 3 water stations and one at the end. None of the water points offer nutrition so you'll need to equip yourself with any gels etc. you may want on the course. The 20 mile race has mile markers at every mile and the 20 km race has markers at each 5k point (5k, 10k and 15k).
