First Mile race at Preston Park.  Very well organised. 

We got the bib number posted at home before the race which was great. And the idea of knowing my child will be kept at the finish line safe comforted me as I wasn’t sure if I could have lost him in the way.

Great activity for the kids to get involved with 

Really enjoyed it! But myself and time didn’t come up on leader board. 

Really supportive staff, well organised with good communication to families in the race. 

Would like trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place by age group. Really enjoyed it!

It was a wonderful event, very well organised and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. It's a fantastic fun thing to do for all the family. 

I absolutely loved it! Awesome experience!

Friendly atmosphere in a great place. It was a perfect run just for the pleasure of running. And thank you for the beautiful medal. 

It would be good to have a little more signposting where the start is. It would also be nice to have affordable coffees and teas on the side and for example Belgian chips or healthy sandwiches or just simple squashes for children @ 50 p per drink. Not only massive burgers, waffles and so on. More detailed little things and snacks made available.My small cappuccino was £3.80.Imagine if I were to treat my whole group of 10 people on a coffee.... and a.muffin ( 4 pounds each) 😬..Just a filter coffee and a cake for 2 pounds does the trick.

It was a great event. The only thing was a bit disappointing was a  Medal, as previous years was the same as Big Marathon. 

Whole event was great. My daughter who ran enjoyed it, and waves were very well organised. Extra entertainment was very good too - may well be back next year

It was great. Next time if you can put the precise start location in the pre-event materials it would be helpful. 

It was a great day my girls both had a brilliant time running with their friends! They loved the medals. I just think the start could be tweaked in regards to allowing the children into a holding area, so then as a parent/ carer you know that they are safe in this area. You can then do the warm up in this area followed by then taking the children down to the start line. As this year you went over at the meet time & the children stood behind the rope thinking this was the start & it was a bit chaotic. The children could then spread out and take part in the warm up, before being taken down to the start line. Maybe as well more people on stage leading the warm up creating more of an atmosphere. Maybe more communication at the start as well? And you could reduce the time to come over before the start of each wave maybe say 20 mins before. The repatriation area at the finished worked well,  just felt the start wasn’t as safe or as well organised from a safeguarding perspective as the finish. Also maybe more stewards / first aiders on the starting stretch as a few children fell & then went over to members of the public for help as there weren’t enough stewards in the area wearing hi vis. Maybe a better briefing system for those volunteers at the start? Also having a couple of volunteers sweeping the races at the end again from a safety perspective & also supporting those children who are walking at the back of the wave. 

My daughter was third in her race but there was no recognition for her. Shouldn’t you have 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal in each race to reward hard work? (Or for each single year -U7, U8, U9 etc have a first, second and third? ). It used to be like that after all… 

Maybe professional runners at front and fun runners second to ease the starting crush?!

Bring back the dj and full warm up team and the t shirt. Love the event it’s very special - we’ve had three kids attend now over ten years. Happy to pay too if your sponsorship ever becomes an issue. 

Great experience for my daughter’s first race on her own. Well organised with a good course and good safeguarding procedures in place. Will be returning. 

I really enjoyed the mini race, encouraged   me to run faster and this was my third year run. I also like the medal 🥇 From Mateo 10 years 

Definitely advertise it a lot more next year, it wasn't as busy but still great. Just let people.know about it especially special needs community's

I had a really awesome time at Brighton miles! Very fun event over in no time :)

Great. Notnas many people entered as previous years. 

Really enjoyable, great atmosphere.  It was lovely to meet other foster carers and we all supported  each other.

Our 8 year old took part with a bunch of his mates and they loved it. None of them were runners, but they all put their hearts into it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely medals!

Really well organised.  Felt very safe letting my son run on his own. Spent hours with the kids playing football after and my youngest feel a part of it all though he didnt run.  the speakers have increased my interest in fostering !!! Loved it thanks

There was a nice atmosphere in the park, lots of families enjoying themselves. Everything was well organised.

The views, how well organised it was, ran on time, great excitement created by the team, and kids were well looked after and kept safe

Great event for the whole family, nice to include the children in the marathon experience. The medal is stunning! 

Brilliant event, thank you. The course was interesting and the facilities were good, such as the baby changing area, really handy. You could definitely get a lot more people by promoting this to local clubs next year 

Best event I’ve done as the atmosphere was good and I was relaxed at the start line. 

Great event would be good to see some more stuff to see and do in the park though

Great fun atmosphere. All kids looked to be having a great time. Parent friendly course. Lots of watching points. Fab medal! 

The information received before the event meant we were really clear on what to expect and where to go etc. it felt really well organised and safe. Atmosphere was great!

I'm autistic and get a bit confused if the course is not round but has funny turns and corners.

The Mini Mile offers children the chance to be part of the action by running, jogging or walking a one-mile course in Preston Park. Entry is free and open to children currently in school years 3 to 12, with all finishers receiving a medal and a digital finisher’s certificate.
