The Routes
Starting and finishing at Holdenby House, the three routes are mainly on quiet country lanes and have their own unique and interesting features
Although the route distances were original as stated route modifications have occurred over the years to take account of prevailing road conditions. The full route distances for the 2017 event are:
100 mile route = 97.4 miles
112km route = 70 miles
21 mile route = 21 miles

**112 Km Route (70 miles)
**The 100 km route goes past the Naseby civil war battlefield and monument, around Market Harborough and over the top of Eyebrook Reservoir. They then pass the Welland viaduct where they can stop at the feed station and enjoy the view of 82 arches of Britain’s longest valley viaduct. Then it’s down the beautiful Northamptonshire country lanes back to Holdenby House.

**Riders have the option of adding Rutland water to their 3 Counties 100 trip. The 100-mile route continues from the Welland Viaduct to head around Rutland Water, passing the windmill at Morcott, around the top of Rutland Water and return via single lane country roads back to the Welland Viaduct to follow the 110km route back to Holdenby House.

The 21-mile route remains in Northamptonshire, mainly on quiet country lanes. This route takes cyclists up to the Naseby monument, and down through tranquil Cottesbrooke Estate and back to Holdenby House.

Feed stations
Each feed station serves a selection of free cakes, savouries, energy supplements and drinks (you are requested to put a donation into the charity tin for this service). 21-mile riders are served by a feed station near Cottesbrooke. On the 112km route, there are 2 feed stations; the first outside the wheel and Compass pub at Weston by Welland, providing toilet facilities. The second feed station is in Harringworth situated opposite the White Swan pub serving the 112km and 100-mile riders. The 100 mile riders will return to the feed station at Harringworth for a second time following their extended loop around Rutland Water. Hot food and refreshments are available from Holdenby House cafe for spectators throughout the day and for riders when they finish.
