Route information
This is a family friendly run or walk to raise awareness of domestic violence. The intention is to raise money for those charities and services involved in helping female domestic violence survivors.
This run has been organised to coincide with the United Nations 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based violence
The run will take place in the beautiful Williamson Park, Lancaster. The run/walk will start from outside the cafe within the park.
There are public toilets available in the park. There is parking in the park -there are two car parks one at the bottom of the park and one at the top which has limited car park spaces. Both car parks have disabled spaces.
There will be prizes for first, second and third places.
The route will be on the tarmac path in the park and therefore accessible to prams and wheelchairs, weather permitting.

This is a charity run and the aim is to raise as much money for domestic violence services as possible.

AAFDA- Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse
The cost to enter: £15 + online entry fee - the costs will be used towards recovering costs of putting the run on and to contribute towards planning future events to raise awarenss of gender based violence. Activism Against Gender Based Violence is a registered community interest company: 13658133 which aims to promote community awareness of gender based violence through community activities.

There are two car parks available, 1 at the top of the park near the cafe(limited spaces) and 1 at the bottom on Wyresdale Road.

The closest train station to Williamson Park is Lancaster station which is a 1 mile walk or bus ride to the park.

There are public toilets available for all participants to use.
When does the 5k run to raise awareness domestic violence start?
The run at Williamson park will start at 14:00, if taking part in the virtual run you can run any day between the 25/11/2021 and the 10/12/2021.
I can I run in memory of someone in the 5k run to raise awareness domestic violence?
Yes, all participants are allowed to run in memory of someone but there is no pressure to do so, feel free to come along and raise awareness and funds for services dedicated to tackling domestic violence.
Will there be prizes at the 5k run to raise awareness domestic violence?
Yes, there will be prizes for first, second and third place. Please remember the ethos of the day is to raise awareness of domestic violence and is a completely inclusive event no matter if you run or walk this course all entrants are welcome.
