Speed around London in the city's most innovative running event. Great for runners of all stripes, the challenge is to run as far as you can within one hour on closed, traffic-free roads within the city. Come for the scenic course or for the epic race atmosphere.

adidas City Runs - 1 Hour route

The challenge? To run as far as you can in one hour on our epic closed road route past some of London’s most famous and historic landmarks.

Kick-starting from Paternoster Square, with St Paul's Cathedral looming in the background, this course takes you on an adventure through one of London's most iconic distances.

Key landmarks include: Mansion House, the Royal Exchange and Guildhall. Once the hooter goes and the hour is finished, all athletes will make their way back to the start/finish area to collect their well earned medal.

The course will be clearly marshalled and distance marked throughout, with on-course toilets and aid stations.

07:30: Event Village Opens

08:00: Bag Drop Opens

09:00: First Wave Starts

10:15: Second Wave Starts

11:30: Third Wave Starts

14:00: Community Mile (time subject to change)

16:00: Event Hub and Bag Drop Closes

Please arrive at least 40 minutes before your race start time. If you need to collect or swap your race pack, then please arrive between 45 - 60 minutes before.

The Event Village is open from 0730 - 1500 and supporters are firmly encouraged to come along to take advantage of these great facilities.


Adidas City Runs are on the hunt for great volunteers to help out at the Event Village and on the course.

In return, runners will receive:

- Free entry in another of adidas City Runs races
- Breakfast/refreshments throughout the day
- Free adidas event tech t-shirt (RRP £25)
- A medal to access all the great offers post-shift

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum entrance age?
All participants must be aged 16+ on the day of the race. If you are aged 15, 16, or 17 when entering then you must complete the Parent Consent Form, which can be found here: The Community Mile Wave is open to every aged 4+ and above. Those under the age of 16, however, must be accompanied by a guardian.
What is the community mile?
The community mile is open to everyone aged 4+, and allows runners of all ages/abilities to complete one loop of this epic, traffic-free course.
Do Under-21's run for free?
In an effort to inspire the younger generations into a healthier, more active lifestyle, all U-21's are being given free-entry into adidas City Run events, in 2020. Please email: [email protected] to find out how you can enter.
