This innovative, exciting 1 Hour race takes place at the Emirates Stadium, home of Arsenal Football Club. The challenge is to run as far as you can in 1 hour around the iconic course that does a full lap of the stadium on the surrounding Islington streets. The challenge is open to runners of all abilities, so how far can you go before the buzzer sounds?!
Once the buzzer has sounded, signalling the end of the hour, you will make your way inside the wonderful stadium to collect your medal and why not grab a post-race selfie while you're there! You will even be able to leave down the players tunnel, a fitting way to end this exciting challenge.
The route itself starts outside the Clock End of the Emirates Stadium, before taking you on a lap of the stadium and the surrounding roads. And if an hour sounds like a long time to you, don't worry! The course will be lined with enthusiastic supporters, a live DJ playing music and adidas Runners cheer stations to motivate you all the way round. Large digital clocks and audio countdowns will help you pace yourself and know exactly how long you have left.
To calculate your distance there will be timing mats every 0.1 mile all the way around the loop. Your official finish distance will be calculated by the last timing mat you run over when the hooter sounds after 1 hour.
Post Race
Once the buzzer has sounded, you will have 10 minutes to head into the stadium to collect your hard earned medal, and other treats inside the stadium! Wherever you are around the lap, it won't be more than half a mile back inside the ground. The fun doesn't stop when you leave the stadium, you will head out to the Event Village where you’ll be able to celebrate your amazing achievement with your family and friends.
Community Mile
The Community Mile event allows runners of all ages and abilities to complete a loop of the same epic, 1-mile loop around the outside of the stadium and traffic-free roads, and it’s completely free to enter!
