This was my first half marathon race and it was kinda odd course running through people's streets rather than main roads. Nice support on route Slippy on bridges in nature reserve due to weather no warnings Good support from marshals however very mentally draining passing the finish at mile 11 hearing accouncements etc knowing you still had 2 miles to run That really throw me off Plus very unorganized at the finish- bottle necked queuing for blankets, t shirts/medals.Disappointing goody bag and no fruit left- day old newspaper, a few leaflets and a wagon wheel when we finished (Just over 2hrs) Fab medal and S t shirt were appreciated though Then the results weren't out for over 24hrs after race finished - poor communication Only a few messages from organisers People wearing last year's bibs should of been disqualified as it made everyone else wait for the results. Unsure I would run this event again … read more

Organisation was excell - easy to get to, plenty of parking, start/finish/route well marshalled. Course - had a bit of everything. Closed roads, footpaths, hills (straight up and down), bridges to cross and barriers to navigate. Not really a Pb course but lots of variety. Atmosphere - was okay. There wasn't loads of support on the course but the marshals were very encouraging and there was just enough spectators to keep you going. Having done hilly and flat fast half marathons, this is one I will definitely do again … read more
