Route information
10k
The Great Scottish Run 10k is the perfect way to see the stunning Glasgow sights, which include The Hydro, Pacific Quay and the McLennan Arch. The course takes runners on a tour of the River Clyde, before heading back towards Glasgow Green for the big finish.
The 10k course is a shorter adaptation of the half marathon but shares many of the key landmarks with the longer route. Starting in George Square in the centre of the city, 10k runners will cross the River Clyde and pass iconic landmarks and buildings including The Hydro, The Finnieston Crane and Pacific Quay as they make their way toward the McLellan Arch and the finish line in Glasgow Green.
Runners cross the Clyde on four occasions using the Kingston Bridge, Clyde Arc, King George Bridge and Glasgow Bridge. Entertainment along the course includes choir, bagpipers, drumming band, charity cheering points and our ‘Wall of Sound’.
Half Marathon
The course starts in George Square in the city centre, before taking runners past some of Glasgow’s finest venues and buildings. Runner cross over the River Clyde, as well as a taking a trip through Pollok Park and Bellahouston Park, before heading back for the grandstand finish on Glasgow Green.
The course will once again pass many of the iconic venues that feature in Scotland’s biggest city, including Nelson’s Monument, the Clyde Arc and the Finnieston Crane.
Starting in George Square in the heart of the city centre. Runners cross the Clyde twice using the Kingston Bridge and Clyde Arc. From the city centre streets to the peace of Pollok Park – every mile is different.

Start Times
Your start time and wave allocation will be based on your estimated finish time when you enter. You can determine what wave you are in by looking at your race number, which you will receive in your race pack.
Age Requirements
Great Scottish Run entries are open to runners aged 15 & over for the 10k and, and 17 & over for the Half Marathon.
The Junior Race for children aged 9 - 15. The Mini race is for children aged 3 - 8, all Mini entrants must run with a parent. .
Race Pack
Race numbers will be included in your race pack which will be sent to entrants approximately 2 weeks before the event. This will include your timing chip, wave colour, arrival time, and approximate start time.
Once you have received your race pack, you must read all the information as this is important preparation and will make sure you enjoy your day.
Bag Drop
A self-service bag drop will be available for all runners on event day. All runners need to fill out their bag label (which is detached from their race number) and attach it to their bag before dropping it off. There will be security staff present but the organisers cannot accept any responsibility for lost/stolen items.
Live Photos
Your official race photos from the run will go LIVE the moment you pass a MarathonPhotos.Live photographer at points around the course.
Share your race number with family and friends and they can register to be notified as soon as your photos are online, as well as track your progress around the course.
Results
Results will be published here after the event.
Environmental Levy
Glasgow City Council’s Environmental Levy of £2 + VAT (£2.40) will be added to each 10K and Half Marathon entry. This additional charge per person applies to major events like festivals, mass participation events and concerts held in the city's parks. The levy supports the maintenance and development of the city parks and open spaces ensuring the green spaces and the people who use them benefit.
