This duathlon event in the magnificent Lake District which includes the excitement of a cycle around the shores of Lake Windermere into Ambleside and back for with the transition at the Lakes School and then two fairly flat runs for all three distances, e.g. Novice, Sprint and Standard Distances.

Get Set North Events is a family run business with extensive experience in sports events management throughout the North of England. Ian is the Company Director and is supported by his wife Vicky, Communications Manager, son Kieran, Events Officer and daughter Cara. Marianne provides valuable support as an Events Officer.

How to enter

What's included:

Prize giving will take place at the Finish area in front of the transition once most competitors have completed their event, which is expected to be about 10.00am. There will be trophies for male and female age category winners (1st places only) and overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners in each of the 3 distances. If you are expecting a trophy you must be present at the presentations to receive your trophy.

Refreshments Stations
There will be 1 refreshments stations on course where fluid will be available:
Refreshments station 1:
At the 1.72K turnabout point on the run.
Refreshments station 2:
At the Finish. Medical supplies will be available here too.

Logistics and schedule

Registration will be in reception. It will be open on Sunday 6.00am - 6.45am.


Start and Finish area at the school to cheer on their competitors as they run past the finish at each run lap and at the end of their race.
Spectators are welcome to line the roadside to cheer passing cyclists but should not offer any form of assistance to the riders such as offering drinks bottles or assisting with mechanical problems.

The event HQ is located at main reception at White Cross Bay Park (this is limited), therefore parking is available at the Lakes School approximately 800 metres away from White Cross Bay.
