This event in the magnificent Lake District which includes the excitement of racing next to Lake Windermere, with the transition at the White Cross Bay Park, with a cycle around the shores of the lake into Ambleside and back. The run takes you on an out and back course, with a number of loops depending on the distance, towards Ambleside then turning back towards the White Cross Bay Park.

Route information
Swim Route
The sprint distance will follow the red route (750m) and Novice distance will follow the green route (400m).

Bike Route
Novice and Sprint Distance (Ambleside) 14Km (following the A591 into Ambleside and then through the one way system through the town centre rejoining the A591 back towards Windermere and past the White Cross Bay Park upto the Kirkstone/ Penrith mini roundabout and turning right around the roundabout heading back to the Park turning left back onto the Park drive heading into transition (Please be careful as there are some speed bumps. You must keep left as there will be oncoming runners heading out on the right. These will be separated by cones as the road is wide.
Novice and Sprint Distance (Ambleside) 14Km (following the A591 into Ambleside and then through the one way system through the town centre rejoining the A591 back towards Windermere and past the White Cross Bay Park upto the Kirkstone/ Penrith mini roundabout and turning right around the roundabout heading back to the Park turning left back onto the Park drive heading into transition (Please be careful as there are some speed bumps. Run Route
Out of transition the run heads out up the left handside of White Cross Bay Park until athletes come to the main entrance of the park at 0.3miles. Runners then turn left and continue on the pathway running adjacent to the A591 keeping to the left handside of the pathway for 0.5miles where all distances turn just passed Brockhole Park to head back towards White Cross Bay Park keeping to the left of the pathway.
Out of transition the run heads out up the left handside of White Cross Bay Park until athletes come to the main entrance of the park at 0.3miles. Runners then turn left and continue on the pathway running adjacent to the A591 keeping to the left handside of the pathway for 0.5miles where all distances turn just passed Brockhole Park to head back towards White Cross Bay Park keeping to the left of the pathway.
Novice distance will then return back into the park towards the finish covering a distance of 1.5miles (2.4K). Sprint distance will turn at the entrance and complete one more lap out towards just passed Brockhole Park and back towards White Cross Bay Park covering a distance of 3 miles (5K) and then head back in towards the finish.

Start and Finish area at the school to cheer on their competitors as they run past the finish at each run lap and at the end of their race.

Spectators are welcome to line the roadside to cheer passing cyclists but should not offer any form of assistance to the riders such as offering drinks bottles or assisting with mechanical problems.
