The Course
There will be an epic course in and around Nene Park and the surrounding area. With kind permission from Castor, Alwalton, Wansford and Yarwell parish Council and local landowners you will be able to use all the epic paths and trails around their beautiful land and villages.
The swimming for the Juniors and the 5k solo race is in the beautiful Gunwade Lake, the 10k solo race is in Gunwade Lake and the River Nene with easy entry and exit points. The run sections are predominantly flat, off road with tracks, field and compact trail. A great newcomers course.
The first half of the 21k is more demanding with up and downstream river sections and heads out through woods and tracks with naturally occurring obstacles. The running is more undulating and has a couple of quiet road sections before it joins the 10k course for the 2nd half of the race.
The 39k heads out along the Nene basin towards Wansford with some demanding upstream swimming and flat trail running. This is a stunning course taking in the best Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire offers in scenery and river swimming. With just a couple of short road sections this course is predominantly track and trail running. It joins the 10k course to finish on the lake.
