The Asda Foundation Derby Half Marathon is set to be a hugely popular addition to our running calendar.

A great new challenge for runners old and new, the event, formerly known as the Ramathon, boasts a great city centre course and a truly incredible atmosphere.

Starting and finishing at Derby Countys Pride Park Stadium, the race now in its fifth-year takes runners into the city centre, through the historic Market Place and past the beautiful cathedral.

Its then on to the stunning Elvaston Castle County Park, before returning for the grand finale at Pride Park where youll collect your top-quality souvenirs, including a bespoke T-shirt and medal, and a packed goody bag full of post-event treats!

Make sure you celebrate your achievement in our event village, with a host of activities.

Course came up short on garmin and some of the signage for directions could have been clearer. Apart from that I really enjoyed it!

Did the Half Marathon in 2019

This was my first 1/2 2 years ago and I return each year to try and better my time. Great route but I struggled with the new start this year in my head. Only one gel station unlike the normal 2 and not enough toilets this year. Overall a great event though x

I would recommend the Derby half marathon and will certainly do it again. I throughly enjoyed the day. The route was perfect for a PB, mostly flat with a few small inclines and very picturesque for a large portion of the route, other bits did seem long and boring though! Very well organised lots of Marshall's and water/aid station, my only issue on this point was the lack of toilets on route. The finisher goodies were fantastic - a free tech t-shirt and medal with free engraving is always a plus for me! The support on route was good in places but lacking in others, some Marshall's were very encouraging particularly towards the end when you needed it most but others were quiet, I suppose not everyone is as vocal as others and knowing they've given up their time to volunteer is enough for me. Will be looking forward to doing it again in the future.
