Route information
Starting and finishing in the Ashbourne Leisure Centre car park, each route is flat and takes runners along beautiful views from the former train line across the Derbyshire Dales.
Spot some wildlife along the way as you run out and back. With a very gradual incline for the first half of the course that are hardly noticeable ,when you turn around at half way points to head downhill you'll make those feet fly!
The ground has a hard surface made from recycled materials - firm & even in most places & it was resurfaced in 2020. Turning points are located at 2.5k, 5k, 5 miles, and 6.55 miles.
The Tissington Trail is open to the public & there may be walkers & cyclists & horse riders using the trail.
Canicross runners run separately at 8.30am & return before main pack of runners set off at 9.45am

Great to be able to park so close, relaxed, easy access to toilets, good catering facilities, doggy friendly.

An out and back route is not my cup of tea, but stunning scenery either side of the trail made up for that. Very well organised and Amy race with a tunnel is a winner.

All the staff were fantastic, encouraging and enthusiastic and willing to help. I Had to change from a 10k to 5k a few days before the event due to injury and It was seamless, thank you.

Signing in, bag drop excellent, start (10k) a bit chaotic, lot of runners milling around asking each other what was happening as no one could hear the PA, start waves did nt appear to happen and advertised start times passed before GO sign appeared and everyone did! Marshals brilliant and good atmosphere despite drizzle! Enjoyable event.

Love this event. The medal is great and got run through the old railway tunnel. Plus its 5k slight incline up and therefore incline down for the second half. What's not too like about that?
