Route information

The course involves a route through the varied woodland habitats of the Common, including open areas of previously-burnt woodland and regrowth, coppiced areas, and the ancient oaks for which the common is famous. The route is undulating, with total ascent and descent of not more than around 250m. The route follows wide grassy footpaths, bridleways and tracks through the forest, and in its mid-section features views over farmland to Malden Rushett and beyond.

Did the race in 2020

This is a brilliant 10K. I have run it 10 times now and it has always been very enjoyable. The organisation is always excellent and the course is beautiful. There are loads of good 10K runs around Surrey but this is definitely my favourite. The arrangements made to fit in with COVID safety requirements didn't detract from the fun at all. In fact running off in a series of smaller groups was different and quite fun. Highly recommended.

Did the race in 2019

This was the second time I have run this race and it was just as good as I remembered. Lots of friendly people, warm weather, great if a little challenging course and lovely bacon rolls and homemade cakes after. Great eco friendly wooden medal at the finish. Highly recommended.
