Something Wild Events organise running races & a trail festival in Devon & the South West. Most are on trails and quite a few are in the dark!
Spectators are more than welcome at this event and it is a great evening out for the family. The sight of several hundred head torches moving as one is not to be missed.
Please note that head torches are compulsory. This is due to the fact that although parts of the route are illuminated, runners will be running through some dark areas.
Is there an age limit?
Runners must be aged 16 or over on the day of the event for the 10k and aged 12 or over for the 5k event.
What type of head torch will I need?
Generally the more expensive the head torch, the brighter and more reliable the light will be and it will enable you to run faster. It is recommended that you spend at least £30 on a head torch. A £5 petrol station head torch is not recommended.
Can I race with my dog?
Dogs are not permitted on the course.
Public transport nearby
Wasnt on the list even though I paid months ago, and had email, mix up with parking but ok event, very muddy ,did not see many Marshall's, only 5 loo, wasnt sure if you get a t shirt as i dont , and had to ask for my medal, a bizarre event but strangley enjoyed it, more event signs needed to direct people to and during event requied , and suggest flood lights around village and walk ways to car park so 5 out of 10 imo
