This fantastic running festival offers both 5k and 10k races at Avon Heath Country Park in St Leonards, Dorset's largest country park. The route follows forest paths, with 10k runners completing 2 laps of the course and 5k runners completing 1 lap of the course.
Trail shoes are recommended this event, but runners are also advised to look at the weather forecast in the week leading up to event day.
All proceeds from this event go to Team Kids, a charity supporting over two million children and young people with disabilities and special educational needs and their families.

Get full directionsBy Car
Avon Heath Country Park is a 16-minute drive from Bournemouth via the A338 and a 29-minute drive from Poole via the A31. From Southampton, it is a 34-minute drive via the A31.
The Park is located on the A31 between Ringwood (2 miles west) and Ferndown. You can follow the brown tourist signs at the Woolsbridge roundabout into Brocks Pine at St Leonards. You will see the large green Country Park sign at the entrance.
Parking
There is a car park at Avon Heath Country Park. It is the runner's responsibility to cover any parking costs.
By Public Transport
The 38 (Wilts & Dorset) stops at St Leonard's Hotel, which is a 10 minute walk from the Country Park. Passengers from Salisbury/Bournemouth directions should catch service X3 (Wilts & Dorset) to Ringwood and change to service 38.
The nearest mainline train station is Bournemouth.

Runners must be 16 or older to participate in the 10k event.

There will be a water station at the event, but runners should bring their own bottles to avoid waste.

Can dogs take part in the Avon Heath Running Festival?
Unfortunately dogs are not permitted on the course but are welcome to come and spectate, we just ask they stay on the lead!
Can I run with a buggy at the Avon Heath Running Festival?
As the course is not a paved route, buggies are not permitted on the course.
