Route information
Both races will start at Leigh Court on the edge of Leigh Woods, a popular spot for running in Bristol. You’ll be starting just as it gets dark so a head torch is essential. The running surface is generally fairly smooth so ideal for beginners and fast runners alike. And we’ve booked the Anchor Ham Green pub for the Prize Presentation after the race.

Tremendously enjoyable event with good routes for the 10k, the most technical part also being the 5k route. Hilly, pretty (even in the dark) and with a good atmosphere. Good comms beforehand and the parking was okay, particularly given the location (although Id definitely recommend sharing a ride to keep the number of vehicles down). My only gripe: I paid for a T-shirt in advance and although I came in near the front of the 10k theyd already run out of my size.

A really challenging and fun race - thanks for all the hard work setting it up and to the really friendly marshals.

Absolutely loved this event, so friendly and well organised, Im gutted I only found out about it at the end of the series, will definitely be back next year. The course was wonderful with just the right level of difficulty for a long time road runner looking to do more trail. Thank you!

Loved the location, course, and general feel. Not OTT with pointless loud music etc, but loved the roaming photographer and free grub at the end. One marshalling point / course indication was poor.

Race was great fun. Such a weird experience running in that level of darkness, but an excellent one.

Im more of a long distance runner but opted for the 5k race as an intro back to racing. The course was fantastic for beginners (not too muddy or difficult) yet as fast as you wanted to make it for the more experienced (my shins are paying). This is the second event Ive done with these guys and would happily do more.

This was my second Trail experience. I did the 5mile Wild (mild) Night Run earlier this month. ....... Back To Black was much easier. The terrain was also much easier. Let's be honest, I'm not a great runner, I finished 56th overall, and I'm better on roads than trails due to slightly dodgy knees and ankles. But the experience was excellent, and I'm up for the Burrator, and the Trail weekend in August. Camaraderie amongst the runners is superb, and the results are posted within a couple of hours of finishing! I've heard a couple of gripes about medals not being available, and that's simply not true. If you're doing one of these for the first time, and you're a "Parkrun" person, choose the shorter distances. It's brutal, so don't put yourself off by doing something unachievable/very difficult. But, do give it a go if you're a trail virgin! If you're more experienced than me, then you know what to expect, and you probably think I'm talking rubbish.

Really enjoyable race - a great race which was a bit different without being gimmicky. I'll hopefully do it again!

We were well prepared. Only minor shame was the style half way through as it created a long backlog. An impromptu toilet break meant that we were at the back by the time we hit it. Overall though very fun as always!

Would have worn more reflective gear for the benefit of other runners more than myself as its habdy to see whos around and in front. Well marked our course though and great fun will def do more
