Situated on the world famous Antrim Coast Road you will find BallyGallys award winning beach, nestled under the Sallagh Braes and home to the historic BallyGally Castle.

Views of the infamous North channel and the Mull of Kintyre will meet you as you stand ready for a running beach start into the chilly waters of BallyGally!

    Swim entries 08.00-09.00 Saturday 31 August

    When is the race brief? 

    09:00 at HQ for all distances

    What time does the 2.4 mile, 1.2 mile and 3.1 mile swims start?

    All races: 10:00am

    Swim floats are permitted

    Swim cap is compulsory (provided by Force 12 Events).

    Wetsuits are advisable however not compulsory!

    More than welcome!


  • Swim cap compulsory (supplied by Force 12 events).
  • Swim Tow Floats are permitted.
  • Wetsuits are advisable however not compulsory.
  • Sea temperature will be taken on the day and relayed to you.
  • If conditions are not satisfactory the event may be postponed on grounds of safety.
  • Will I be timed? 

    Yes indeed, you will have a chip timer (dibber) for the duration of the event.
    All times will then be published on our site.

    Safety and Medical

    Force 12 take the safety of all of our support team and competitors very seriously. The team also happen to be registered paramedics and serving members of the emergency services helping us to provide excellent medical and safety cover.

    As a competitor you will be assured that we will be using TrailMed Ltd who will provide Paramedic Practitioner led medical cover as well as a team of Paramedics and First Aiders both on the beach and out on the route. 

    A full water rescue team will also be in attendance with a drone overhead to keep a good eye on you. Warming facilities are situated on the beach should they be required along with tea and coffee facilities.
