This event gives runners a chance to run along Bournemouth Beach dodging the beachgoers & enjoy promenading along the famous Bournemouth shoreline. This sand-covered course features groynes to manoeuvre, making the run even more unique.

Both distances start and finish on the east side of the pier and head along the Bournemouth shoreline up to Boscombe.
The low tide provides a good hard packed sand to run on . There are a number of groynes serving as man-made obstacles you will have to negotiate. Most are no more than 2 to 3 feet high and can be jumped or stepped over.

Event day logistics
08:30 Event starts
Exact timings will be communicated to entrants closer to the event date. All runners will be socially distanced and be set off in groups from 08:30.
The minimum age of entry is 7 years old, however children must be supervised by a parent or adult who is also participating.
Groups of 4 people can enter this event and run together. Please select a group ticket when purchasing.
Entrants are welcome to run with their dogs, but please ensure they are wearing a suitable harness and lead.

Can I run with my dog at the Beach Race?
Absolutely! Dogs are more than welcome to join you but please ensure they are properly harnessed and have a lead.
Can I run with my friend at the Beach Race?
Yes, absolutely. However please do be considerate and follow government guidelines when competing.
Do I need to wear a face mask at the Beach Race?
While you don't have to wear one while you run, please do bring and wear one when registering for the event.
Is the Beach Race chip-timed?
Chip-timing is not guaranteed, however if chip-timing cannot happen, alternative measures will be in place to ensure a time is captured.
