Route information
This fantastic sportive returns for 2024, bringing yet another challenging cycle across the beautiful Meon Valley and South Downs National Park in Hampshire, home to some of the best cycling routes in southern England. Choose to ride for 100 miles, 82 miles, 57 miles or 28 miles, whether you're an experienced cyclist or a newcomer to the sport. Routes are fully marked and marshalled and fully-stocked aid stations will be available along the way.
All routes start from Swanmore College and head out towards Hampton Hill, Beacon Hill and Old Winchester Hill, where you can enjoy spectacular views across the beautiful rolling countryside.
The medium, long and epic routes then head up the renowned Butser Hill, with lots of out-the-saddle climbing for participants. However, the sight of the sea and the panoramic views at the top make this worth it!
You then head over to Rowlands Castle with the medium route looping back via South Harting and the long and epic routes heading on towards Glorious Goodwood, returning via the South Downs National Park.

By Car
Swanmore is a 23-minute drive from Portsmouth via the M27, and is also easily accessible from Winchester.
Parking
Free parking is available at Swanmore Village Hall.
By Train & Bus
Botley Station is the closest railway station to the start location. You can ride the x9 bus from Botley Station straight to Swanmore Village Hall, by alighting at the stop named Technology College.

Waves
Competitors will be set off in start waves within their distance. Information regarding specific start times will be emailed to registered participants before event day.
Kit
You must have with you:
  • Helmet
  • Spare inner tube(s)
  • Small pump/gas
  • Tyre levers
It is also strongly advised that you have a working rear light and a jacket so you’re prepared for all conditions. Please download the GPX of the route onto a wearable watch or mobile device. Although this is a marked course event, arrows have been known to be tampered with, so a good understanding of the route is advisable.
Cut-Off Times
  • 28 miles (Short) – no cut off
  • 56 miles (Medium) – Reach the course split at 14.6 miles by 10:00 (then follow on short route)
  • 82 miles (Long) – Reach the course split at 27 miles by 10:45 (then follow the medium route)
  • 100 miles (Epic) – Reach the course split at 78 miles by 15:00 (then follow the long route)
