Belfast 1.5k, 5k & 10k MoRun routes

Stormont Park is a stunning location for the MoRun, taking you past the iconic Parliament Buildings. The undulating route is mixed between paths and trail running, and passes through breathtaking routes. Some sections are uneven and muddy, so it is suitable for buggy runners but not for wheelchair users. There will be marshals and kilometre markers all around the course.

Laps:

  • 5k: 1 Lap
  • 10K: 2 Laps

Kit List

This is a fancy dress event, with special prizes for the best costume, so don't forget to dress up! It is especially encouraged to draw on or wear a fake moustache (unless you've grown one already, that is). You will receive your free MoRunning Headband in your race pack, so make sure to put it on before the race.

Please make sure that your Bib race number is fully visible on the outside.

Am I allowed to wear headphones?

Headphones are allowed, but you must make sure that you are aware of your surroundings and are able to hear instructions from marshals and fellow runners.

Spectators

This is a great family event, with lots of silly fancy dress and groovy music, so it will be great fun to come and watch. You're more than welcome to come along and cheer your friends and family around the course. There's also a strong charitable focus, so the more support the better.

Volunteers

Can I volunteer or marshal at the event?

If you are not able to take part in this year's races but would still like to take part in the event by volunteering or marshalling, you would be hugely welcome. There are plenty of roles available, and volunteers tend to work from 8am-12pm. In return, you will receive snacks, drinks, and free entry to a future event. If you would like to volunteer, please email [email protected]

FAQs

What are the age restrictions?

Children are permitted to run in any of the events, as long as their parent/guardian is confident that they are able to finish the course. Parents/guardians must be responsible for their children at all times.

The Mini Mo event is restricted to younger children aged 3-12.

Will there be toilets?

Yes, toilets will be available by the event hub.

Is there anywhere I can leave my bags?

Yes, a bag storage area is located by the registration area. However, space is very limited so please pack lightly. The bag storage gazebos will always be attended, but it is not recommended to bring anything valuable.

Am I allowed to run with my dog?

Dogs are permitted on course, provided they are on leads. Please be aware of your fellow runners and be careful around the course.

Where do I get my race day photos?

Photos from the event will be available to view and purchase one or two days after the event. You must enter your name and race number, so please make sure your race number is visible during the race. If your number is visible, you are guaranteed at least two photographs of you running on the day.

Do I need to fundraise for the Movember Foundation?

Fundraising is not compulsory, but anything you can raise would make a big difference. When you enter, you have the option of making a donation. You can fundraise for any charity of your choice.

MoRunning supports the Movember Foundation which tackles men's health, focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.

  • Did the 10K in 2019

Excellent organisation , well marked challenging course. Clearly marked out and no problem with parking.
  • Did the 5K in 2018

I came in sixth place with minimal training and eating terribly before the race. So I was happy with the result. The hill is SO hilly. Up and down, up and down, up and down. It was fun, just sooooooooo tiring.
  • Did the 5K in 2018

Nice race, well organised and nice tech top and medal. All for a good cause.
  • Did the 10K in 2018

Challenging course with a few wee nasty hills on the trail path but I like that. Good friendly atmosphere with loads of encouragement. Also enjoyed the warm up on what was a cold morning.
  • Did the 5K in 2018

Was a great wee morning, bit more advertising to get more involved would be good
  • Did the 10K in 2018

Tough course but good. Almost a trail run with lots of ups and downs. Great opportunity for everyone to take part as the mini mo was finished before the start of the 5 & 10k runs so you could run with your kids then do the main race. Recommend fancy dress and real or fake Mos.
  • Did the 5K in 2018

I really enjoyed everthing about the event.. Thanks
