Betws-y-Coed Trail Challenge 2021 - Running in Caernarfon

A 10k or 5k run around some of the most beautiful forest tracks Snowdonia has to offer. Both races start from Cae Llan in Betws-y-Coed, then head up through the forest behind St Mary's Church, around Llyn Elsi, before coming back to the finish.

I really enjoyed this race.  The course is lovely and the people are friendly. My only improvements would be a bigger megaphone for the guy at the start because we couldn't hear him and to ask the people walking up the first hill to start at the back and stay to one side. I was trying to run up and had to elbow my way through. 

This is the second year I have taken part in Betws-y-coed trail challenge and I will definitely return again next year. I travel from Brighton in Sussex  to take part. Its a beautiful very well organised race 

My friend and I both feel that people who are planning on completely walking up the first hill should be asked to start at the back, so those who are attempting to run up it aren't blocked in by walkers. Otherwise it's one of the best runs I've ever done.

This is a favourite race of mine. The incline for the first 1 mile is so brutal...but the trail after this is so beautful the view is totally worth it. Its such an amazing trail I will definitely be back for more.
