The Half Marathon and 10k be undulating courses with plenty of hills thrown to conquer, however, the stunning scenery and impressive finish in front of the Palace will help get you through.
The route takes place on tarmac and is ideal for participants in wheelchairs. Please get in contact in advance to arrange easy access to the start line.
There will be marshals, first aiders and support along the routes.

How to get there

Blenheim Palace is a 20-minute drive from Oxford on the edge of Woodstock; about an hour and a half from London and Birmingham.
- Before 09.30am: If you are approaching the Palace on the A44 from the south please use the main visitor gate. If you are travelling on the A44 from the north please use the Woodstock gate.
- After 09.30am: All entry into the Palace grounds will use the main entrance on the A44. When leaving please follow the exit signs to leave through the Lower Park, the usual exit point.
There is plenty of free parking at the palace. To avoid queues and congestion, please allow at least one hour to arrive and park at the Palace as there will be several thousand runners arriving at the same time.
Follow the British Heart Foundation event car parking signs on arrival to Woodstock.
By Coach or Bus Hanborough Station is the closest transport stop to Blenheim Palace, located 2.2 miles away. This could be a great distance for runners to warm up for the event. Alternatively, ride the 255 bus (towards Woodstock), alighting at the stop Blenheim Palace.
Make sure to give yourself sufficient time to travel, park and arrive at the event village, as routes into Blenheim Palace will be busy on event day. Please be patient arriving and departing the venue, and follow the advice of traffic management marshals at all times.
Event day logistics
Exact event timings are to be confirmed closer to the day of the event.
Given the high number of people attending this event, please ensure you give yourself plenty of time to travel and aim to arrive at least 45 minutes before your scheduled race time.
- The 10k is open to runners aged 16 or over.
- The half marathon is open to runners aged 17 and over.
Runners under the age of 18 must have parent/ guardian permission to run and an adult must accompany them during the race.
There will be a bag drop area at Race HQ, for runners to leave their belongings while they run. Please pack as light as possible and leave any valuables at home or alternatively, carry them on your person.
There will be water stations situated throughout the route, as well as at the finish line.
There will be toilets at the start and finish as well as along the route.
There will also be plenty of catering outlets on site for runners and spectators to enjoy after the race.
If you have anyone coming to support you on the day they will need to purchase an entry ticket in order to access the grounds of Blenheim Palace. More details regarding tickets will be released closer to the day of the event.
Dogs are not allowed on the route but are welcome to accompany spectators. Please note that they must be kept on a lead at all times.

Is there an age limit for the BHF Blenheim Palace Half Marathon?
Age limits align with the UK athletics rules and guidelines. Half marathon runners must be aged 17 and over, 10k runners must be 16 and over, and all under 18s must be accompanied by an adult throughout.
