Run, hike, or walk through Daventry Country Park in the Bigfoot Challenge. Great for athletes of all levels, participants decide on the day how many laps of this 3.3 mile course they wish to complete within a 6 hour time frame. Come for the epic challenge or for the scenic surroundings.

Bigfoot Challenge route

The route is a 3.3 mile lap along crushed stone and - weather dependent - muddy areas. The beauty of this event, formerly known as the Daventry Challenge, is that you can complete as many laps as you wish within the 6 hour time frame.

The course is generally flat throughout, with a few small inclines to keep your eye out for. Around 3/4 of a mile will be run through an open meadow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Did this used to be called the Daventry Challenge?
Yes, this was formerly known as the Daventry Challenge and the name is the only change. Expect the same support, course, and generally epic time.
Do I need to be a certain level of fitness?
The beauty of the Big Bear Challenge events is that you can do as many or as few laps within the 6 hour time frame. That said, only complete laps count towards your total and once you are out of the race you cannot re-enter.
Are there on-site toilets?
Yes, there will toilets available at the Race HQ.

Big Bear Events are ranked #8 in the UK out of 328 organizers

The majority of our events are challenge events - multi-lap races with a time limit rather than a set distance. This means people can run all different distances on the same day, making for a great atmosphere. Lapped events can get some negative feedback but our laps are around beautiful locations. We avoid out and back laps and coming back to the wonderful aid station (full of your requests) can be a good motivator. Whether it's your A race, you need to do some long training runs, you have a 100-mile ultra in a few weeks or you want to hammer out a quick 10k, our races allow everyone to get involved together. We’re also expanding our mid-week evening 10K series too. Keep an eye out for updates on these as we are continually adding more. Expect the same care and attention and in the same great locations!
