Route information
Take part in the first in the Classic Element Race Series, a 4-event trail running series based on the 4 classic elements Air, Water, Fire and Earth.
So whether it is running under never-ending sky (Air), battling over ancient rugged coastline (Water), pushing yourself on under a relentless sun (Fire) or clawing over muddy hills and through rainy valleys (Earth), theres something for everyone.
This two-distance event represents the air, and offers Half Marathon and 60k options. Routes start just after sunrise from Hyde Common, one of the highest points of the New Forest National Park.
This event boasts views as far as the eye can see, and the course navigates wide open plains, winding forest trails, cross rivers and waterways, rolling fields and even towering sand dunes. Both routes will take runners past Rockford Common, Fritham Plain, Nomansland, Deadmans Hill and Godshill.
From here the course splits and the 60k Ultra will leave Hope Cottage and cross the boarder into the Wiltshire farmlands. Then runners will cross the River Avon at the weir to the West of Trafalgar Park and follow the river to Downton before returning to the National Park at Godshill Enclosure.
Then both routes join back up and all runners will love the final climb up Cockley Hill, before a run along Hampton Ridge to the finish-line.
