Event day logistics
REGISTRATION DETAILS and PACKET PICK-UP
You need to pre-register for the event. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email which is your guarantee of a place in the event. There is nothing else you need to do until nearer the night.
Your race pack (bib number, timing tags and event info) will be ready to collect from the full week before from Fylde Coast Runners on Hoo Hill Estate, Blackpool or on event night itself.
RACE NIGHT ITSELF
Arrive in plenty of time to allow you to park; collect your race pack if not already collected; get ready and visit the toilet etc. When you have your race pack, take out your bib number, fill in the medical information section on the back. Be careful not to damage or lose your number, as replacements will not be issued. If there is a risk of you blacking out during the race (for example if you suffer from fits), put a red cross on the front of your number. Pin your number on your FRONT without folding or covering it - it needs to be seen by the Race Makers. Do not remove or damage the timing tags on the bib or you will not get a finishing result. Do not pass your bib number on to anybody else without first notifying registration - this is to ensure the results are correct and for obvious safety, insurance and medical reasons.
When you are happy that you are ready to compete, make your way to the start area. The start location is clearly marked. Line up behind the start line, where there will be a few safety announcements and before the event starts. Please be at the start line for not later than 8.45pm.
START TIMES
10k - 9:00pm
5k - 9:00pm
Both events start together on the middle walkway before joining the Promenade for the spectacular run through the illuminations (yes, they will be illuminated).
WATER STATIONS & AID
A water station is located at halfway point on the 10k route. Bottled water is available to all competitors. The bottle cap will be removed before being passed to you. The station will be clearly signed. A water station is also located at the finish area. Medics are available at the water station and at the finish. If you get into any difficulties on the course you should alert a steward or medic who will be able to help you.
TOILET FACILITIES
In addition to portable toilets at the race venue, and at the start area, there are facilities along the route. They are ‘Danfo’ super loos that require a 30p to operate. We recommend taping a few coins to the back of your running number in case you need to use them during the race. Toilets will also be available at the finish of the race.

BAGGAGE & KEY DROP
You will find a baggage storage marquee located next to the collection points. Use this facility to store essential items you will need for when you have finished the event. Do not leave any valuables as this area is not manned.
There is a car-key drop facility available throughout the day. Use your empty envelope after collecting your bib number to place your keys in and hand to a member of staff at the collection points for safe-keeping whilst you are competing.
