How does it work?
The Backyard Ultra is an ultramarathon where you must consecutively run the distance of 4.16666 miles in less than one hour, for as many hours as you can. When each lap is completed, the remaining time within the hour is used to recover for the next hour's loop. There is no predefined finish.
The winner is the last person to complete a loop, all others are technically DNF (Did not finish).
The Camp
The event camp is a approx 1k to the centre of Chilton Manor Farm where you’ll find The Yard Cafe with a menu of delicious food. Camp facilities include a well stocked table of goodies at the start and finish, the organiser will keep this topped up throughout the weekend along with a plentiful supply of drinking water and squash. There will also be hot food available to purchase - soups, pizzas and other tasty treats. At event HQ, 24/7 medical support and race timing will also be right next to the start. There will be toilets available.
After the buzz of the day, supporters and runners can relax in front of the campfire with chilled vibes and music as you head into the twilight hours.
