Only issue was that the race distance actually 10.6km and not 10km This was also reported to me by other runners. Overall the event was very well organized and well impressed with gifts etc

very quick to add comment's to everyone's Strava requesting a review, very slow getting race results published. Still waiting 4 days later, most other races publish results same day, next day at the worst.Bolton Abbey is a great setting, race course was ok but shame the 10k route was changed to laps of the 5k due to weather. Race briefing perhaps too much flogging other races. Otherwise, not bad, not great either
  • Did the Marathon in 2018

Really enjoyable varied route we had a bit of everything on the day including rain sleet snow and glorious sunshine, the terrain was equally as varied with lots of hills/mud/trails and the odd road section.I really enjoyed the route and was going really well for the first 22 miles unfortunately the body forgot how to run at this point so had to hike with the odd jog to the Marathon finish I was entered for the Ultra but the event stewards were brilliant at the end and said they'd pop me on the marathon result as it would have been rather pointless in doing the extra lap to make up the ultra at this point overall it was a positive day running with some great competition really well organised I had a blast thanks team grim Russell

Really great race, excellent cake selection at the finish, and nice to get a beer in the goody bag!
  • Did the 10k in 2018

Amazing run and fab marshals that made the run amazing as they where so nice and in the cold weather they did amazing.
  • Did the Marathon in 2018

Enjoyed this race tremendously. First time I have done it. Testing hills and varied underfoot with great scenery along the route made it interesting the whole way round. Didn't even mind the 2 fields of solid mud as it added to the challenge.Good friendly marshals and water stations.

I found the course a challenge - slippy mud and steep hills, but really enjoyed it. Beautiful setting, friendly atmosphere and fabulous cakes at the finish. The marshalls were great.
  • Did the Marathon in 2018

This is definitely a tough marathon course, challenging terrain, particularly muddy this year. Love the igun events, great support, lovely marshals, superb cake and the medals are fab (once customs release them ).

It was a great run and brilliantly organised as always. It was a bit muddy through the field but the weather cant be helped and the rest of the course was perfect. Thank you to all involved,Sarah
