Boxhill Elevation Run - Guided Run that is not based on the social experience but on the outcome that elevations bring.
This brutal run is not for the faint-hearted.
It is aimed at trail runners with prior experience of mountain and hill running, who want to work on their elevation fitness.
It's also ideal for anyone looking to put some significant elevation into their marathon training plan, but it is essential you have some good training miles already under your belt and hills do not phase you!.
Boxhill is hilly and beautiful, however this route has not been designed for your visual pleasure, it exists to test and develop your Aerobic and Anaerobic capabilities. Mentally, it will be tough!.
The route: Works its way up from Ryka’s Café before descending and ascending Box Hill six times on the way out for 7 miles and then repeating it on the way back.
It is physically demanding (vomit-inducing) with 5,300ft of elevation, so a good level of fitness is required, although a focus on ‘walking with purpose’ up the hills will be key.
Overall, this run is suitable for people who are looking to improve their hill training in order to compete successfully in races such as UTS 50 or other races that have a lot of elevation over a short distance.
Run not Race
Please remember this is a social event designed to bring people together, we will run as a group. This will be difficult and you will be tested, we will be there to support you and encourage you around.
