Brecon Beacons Mountain Trail Races

The Ultra race route starts in the small village of Trefil at the boundary of the Brecon Beacons National Park. From here the route heads out towards the Central Brecon beacons on fast trails. The first summit is Pant-y-Creigiau followed by dropping down and a climb past waterfalls to the top of Fan Y Big. The route then drops down the gap road before looping round to Cribyn, then Pen Y Fan. From here the Trail route joins the Ultra at the top of Pen Y Fan. After summiting Corn Du you will then head down past the Storey arms Centre You now follow the excellent Beacons Way footpath as you head to the summit of Fan Llia, and then a fast, fun descent down to Ystradfellte. From here he route heads through fast runnable forest into Waterfall Country as you pass under the Sgwd Yr Eira Waterfall. The highlight of the route. The last three miles take you along the Celtic trail to the finish in Hirwaun on the edge of the National Park.
