About this event

This well organised and wonderful route has made it grow in popularity, now in its 38th year. The Half Marathon passes through the buoyant Brentwood countryside, before making your way back to the town centre. This event also includes a 3 mile Fun Run.

What's included:

We now have cash prizes for the first time, if you finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the Male and Female Half Marathon categories the prizes are:
1st: £300
2nd: £200
3rd: £100

We additionally have the usual trophies for the categories below. The trophies will be awarded after the race in the Main hall approximately at 11:30am.

Route description
Route description

The majority of the course is in the Essex countryside, lots of rural undulating through country lanes. The iconic Essex landmarks are no where to been! Starting at Sawyers Hall College and the community coming out to support the race with lots of activities to keep them busy. The Half Marathon is 13.1094 miles, a total climb of 92 metres and has six water points to keep you going.

Logistics and schedule

08.00 Runners start to arrive

08.45 Band arrives at theatre car park to get ready

11.30 Award presentations including cheques. Half marathon 123 M/F

09.30 First call for runners to assembly point. Take position according to signs and pacemakers. Two marshals at start with rope

09.35 Second call for runners

09.40 Third call for runners

09.45 Final call for runners

09.50 Runners in position at start

10.00 Start of Half Marathon by the Mayor

11.10 First Half marathon finish

All friends and family are welcome to spectate and there is charge, just lots fun and plenty of support!

By Car
In the North East of London, just past the M25, Brentwood is located.
From J28 on the M25 take the A1023 to Brentwood.
Up the hill to Brentwood High Road.
Along the High Road to the double roundabouts.
Follow the signs to any of the car parks.
Becket Keys School is within easy walking distance of the car parks.

By Train
Brentwood is located on the East Coast main line, approximately 35 minutes from Liverpool Street.
It is a 15/20 minute walk from Brentwood Station.

Car Parking
Visitors to the Town may find it useful to park their vehicles in one of the designated Car Parks. Please do not obstruct any driveways and do not park illegally. Unfortunately, there is no public parking in or off Sawyers Hall Lane, nor at the School. Some charges may apply.
