Route information
Terrain: Trails
The undulating but mostly flat, traffic-free trail is the best type of race course to add to your spring running calendar. The Essex coastline provides some awesome seaside views and volatile weather to provide a unique running adventure.
The race will start in and end in gorgeous Brightlingsea, a small but thriving historic sailing town on the River Colne with colourful beach huts, independent shops, and quaint cafes. The route follows the river into open countryside, turning at the Tidal Ford and heading inland along quiet trails, past Moveron Gardens. It then rejoins the first part of the route to head back to the start line, completing one lap of the course.
Runners can either choose to run a 10k, half marathon or full marathon or as many laps of the 10.54k loop as they please within the 6-hour time limit. Complete 2 laps for a half marathon, 4 for a marathon, 1 for just over a 10k, or race the clock and complete as many as you possibly can.
Please note this is a cupless event, so runners should bring their own receptacle for hydration.
