Route information
Starting at the disused garage forecourt on Auchrannie Road in Brodick, the route is directly to the Ormidale Sports Field (approx. 200 yards on tarmac), then to the South East corner of the Sports Field, through to West Mayish estate, contouring through this estate (approx another 200yards on tarmac), and through a field to turn right on to the Old Lamlash Road footpath.
The course is up this rough footpath to the top of the hill between Brodick and Lamlash. Then wheel right on to a broad Forestry road which takes runners up for ½ mile, then down into Glen Cloy. Crossing the Cloy Burn on the Forestry bridge, runners run back down the footpath, cross two rough fields, and follow the track beside the burn, past Auchrannie Resort, to finish where we started at the old garage forecourt on Auchrannie Road.
As only 400 yards of the route is on tarmac pavement or road, trail shoes, with grip, would be the recommended footwear.
The route is about 10K long and ascends about 600 feet from and back to sea -level.
There are eating facilities to suit all pockets in Brodick - so lots of options for post-race refuelling.
