FAQs
What is the cut-off time for the Burton Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k and 5k?
The event doesn't really have cut off times, it's more about having fun. This said the marathon does have a 7 hour time limit, which is more lenient than most marathons.

Absolutely loved the relaxed atmosphere of this race. Proper grass roots running with friendly Marshall’s and a fabulous route. Loved it!!!! If you want chip timing etc spend double the money and do a boring commercialised race. This was much more fun.

No water available in the 10k race, How hard is it to provide water! The organisation is pretty poor especially at the finish line, I had no idea where the finish line was. The parking was O.k but a bit far from the start and no sight of any first aid. Shame about the weather as there were rivers of water on the roads. Beyond events need to up their game.

I ran the 10K - it was very well signposted (especially as there were 4 different distances) - the turnaround point for the 10K was very clearly marked with marshalls there making sure on this very straightforward out and back route. However, there were no water stations at all on the 10K route. A pretty route and undulating. The finish was bizarre - I couldn't tell if I had finished - there was no finish sign - no funnel and no evidence of a timekeeping system. However they gave me a nice medal. Parking was well organised albeit quite far from the HQ/start. Don't remember seeing any medics or first aid points. The other strange thing was that the official caterer called Peace, Love and Bananas did not sell any bananas and seemed unaware that this is a popular choice for runners. Could be a great race - just a few tweaks needed. The countryside is beautiful and I enjoyed the event in spite of the rain which eased during the event itself. People were friendly and it would work for beginners.

Well the event was OK, but there were a few things not so good, firstly water stations, non existent in the 10K, and bring your own cup (fine) but the station was at 14K! The finish was chaotic, no sign saying exactly where the races finished, the run director blended with the crowd and wandered about, so if he got your exact time is a big question. I understand due to the weather they could put up the finish structure, but not to have a plan B and not have any signs marking the finish line was inexcusable. Marshalls seemed to be in short supply too, bearing in mind the road was still being used by traffic. Not sure I will be going back, unless the event organiser is changed

Great route but poorly organised. Only one water station on a half marathon and this was not even on the route. There were no obvious medical backup. The finish was a real anti climax, no marked finish and nobody knew when they had completed the races.
