Route information
Waterfall Abseil
Abseil 220ft down the Southwest's highest waterfall at Canonteign Falls, whilst raising vital funds for Age UK Devon.
Situated on the edge of Dartmoor's National Park, in the heart of Devon's Teign Valley, offering some of the most spectacular waterfall and woodland scenery in the county. For this fundraising challenge, we have teamed up with Dave Talbot Adventures so no experience is necessary and full training will be given by the professional team on the day. However, we do emphasise this is an extreme challenge so you will need to be fit to take part and walk a steep 15-minute incline to the top of the waterfall area.
Fees + Fundraising
Once you have registered, you will be issued with your unique QR code so you can begin your fundraising.
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure! A £40 non refundable registration fee secures your spot for the abseil event. We ask all participants to raise a minimum fundraising target of £200, which covers the cost of your abseil and raises essential funds for Age UK Devon.
Here's the plan:
- Pay at least 50% (£100) of your fundraising goal at least two weeks before the event to secure your place.
- The remaining funds should reach Age UK Devon within four weeks of the event.
- Payment is easy through your unique QR code, or you can send cheques (made payable to AGE UK DEVON or ask for BACS details. Just please don't send cash in the mail!
Age + Weight Restrictions
You must be 18 or older to participate. If you're under 18, not to worry, however you will need to bring a parent or legal guardian along to take part (minimum age 14 with a signed Parental Consent Form).
We recommend a maximum age of 65, but if you're older, we suggest checking with your doctor before signing up to make sure you're fit for the experience.
We can accommodate participants up to 20 stone (127kg), but for safety, no more than that. If you are heavier, please get in touch to discuss with Dave Talbot themselves to discuss your options.
Fitness
You don't have to be a fitness fanatic to participate! However, you should have decent mobility - like being able to walk up a flight of stairs, jump a foot off the ground, and climb over small obstacles.
There will also be a steep climb to the top of the waterfall.
If you have any doubt about your fitness/mobility to participate in the abseil, please consult Dave Talbot themselves or your doctor if necessary.
