About
The Canterbury 10 is a well established 10 mile Road Race usually held in January each year on the rural roads to the south of Canterbury. For 2021, due to Covid-19 we have decided to move the race to the summer, using the same, pleasant undulating course that achieves many PB's. It will still be a good early test for those competing in the autumn marathons.

Did the race in 2019
This is my second time in 3 years. Organisation was good. A very well arranged large sports hall with a event manager controlling the area and a microphone. A table with refreshments and running gear on sale. The race is hilly and has a fair few pinch points. Difficult for the novice runner especially with difficult weather. This year was sunny but a fair few puddles. The first fives miles is mainly up hill and although its mainly down hill on the return there was a strong headwind which didnt help. The Kent scenery is a real plus on a sunny day and this year was no exception. I have issues with going to fast and my heart rate and it didnt help the last five miles. A good race and a good stepping stone for marathon distance races in spring.

On the whole. A well organised event. Good parking and facilities. Plenty of event information. Very friendly Marshalls.

This popular event always sells out as a first post-Christmas test. Parking nearby, plenty of space to change, usual queues for toilets and bag drop. Great course that has hills, lanes, a little mud, and some great views across the Kent Downs. Only negative for me is the congested start you hit a narrow lane pretty early on too which doesnt help spread the field out
