Another excellent event by RunThrough, continuing to maintain their high-standard of events, even in the most challenging of conditions. Being able to run an organised & chip-timed 5 or 10k on a cold & rainy midweek evening in deepest, darkest February is truly an amazing thing. Makes you appreciate the warm & sunny "Chase the Sun" events all the more!
Was a very rainy day, but I still enjoyed the race. If it's raining, it's a very good idea to have some dry and warm replacement shoes and clothes. I didn't have other shoes, so had to improvise - I changed socks and put plastic bags on my feet so I can wear the wet shoes and still stay dry. I had to cycle home after the event too, so plastic bags were lifesavers even if it sounds ridiculous
I enjoyed it on a cold, wet Wednesday evening. That said, looking forward to the Chase the Sun series. Ive done RunThrough events so far so know the process. It works well, and good follow-up post race.
Even though it rained the whole way round, the atmosphere was great. It was my first time running at the Olympic Park, and it took a little while to find the race from Stratford underground station.Once again, the flapjacks were worth the effort!Mostly flat.
