Cheddar Gorge Challenge
The Cheddar Gorge Challenge has been taking places for the last 4 years across a series of summer dates. This year we are focusing on one date as we continue to expand our race series to new locations.
We have a NEW start/finish location, with accessible parking just a short flat walk to registration and the start line. The routes will remain largely unchanged as we are able to jump onto the existing routes from our new base, though as we are effectively starting mid way round the old courses, you will see the route in a differnt and arguably less hilly light.
NEW for 2017, the Cheddar Gorge Challenge in joining the National Trust's South West Outdoor Festival (SWOF). This is a celebration of everything outdoors with trail races, sportives, camping, live music, guest speakers, food foraging, axe throwing (not in the direction of the runners...the race is tough enough) and many others activities taking place across the long weekend of 8th - 10th September 2017.

Did the Omnium - Gold in 2019
Despite atrocious conditions throughout the weekend the organisers did an amazing job in keeping the running events going. Prior to starting, the instructions for event start times were completely unfathomable, but the staggered starts turned out to be a superb way of building a good camaraderie between competitors. The run routes were challenging, to say the least, but the marshalling, feed stations and route marking was all first rate. It was particularly nice that marshals took the time to find our names on the run list to call out "personalised" encouragement as we went past. It poured all weekend, which must have been incredibly challenging for everyone involved, but that did little to dampen our spirits, which were lifted to new heights by, what must be, one of the best running medals available at any race anywhere.G

This is a fantastically organised event and everyone should try It. I thoroughly enjoyed this with a friend. Advice? Trail shoes a must and train on hills! 😁
