Route Type Loop
Beginning on the athletics track of Ellesmere Port Sports Village, this ultra marathon takes runners along a selection of scenic trails in the region, with several challenging uphill climbs. With a well-marked route, participants can expect to take in parts of the North Cheshire Way and the sandstone ridges of the Sandstone Trail. Along the course, they'll pass Helsby Hill, the 972 hectare Delamere Forest and the market town of Frodsham.
Starting in Ellesmere Port, the route will head south towards Chester, travelling past the city walls and King Charles Tower, before moving out into the open countryside. The route will follow the Shropshire Union Canal and then turn northwards, passing Willington and Kelsall and then entering the Delamere Forest.
Runners will continue on to Overton and then loop down into Helsby. After running through Dunham on the Hill, the route heads back into Ellesmere Port to finish at the Sports Village.
Checkpoint 1
At the 4 Mile mark, the first checkpoint provides water only. Due to insufficient parking, no Support Crews are allowed.

Is located at the 13 Mile mark on Waverton Village Hall, Common Lane, Waverton, CH3 7QT.
Checkpoint 4
Is located at the 20 Mile mark on Sandstone Trail, Crib Lane, Tarporley, CW6 9DQ.
Checkpoint 5
Is located at the 27.5 Mile mark on Barnsbridge Car Park, Delamere Forest, Ashton Road, WA6 6US.
Checkpoint 6
Is located at the 34 Mile mark in Frodsham, Near Middle Walk, WA6 6BW.
Checkpoint 6
Is located at the 40 Mile mark at Wheatsheaf Pub, Chester Road, Dunham-on-the-Hill, WA6 0LL.
Finish Event HQ

Age Requirements
You must be at least 20 years old at the time of the race.
Qualifying Criteria
All runners must have completed at least one marathon distance race before the event. This can be for an event that has not yet taken place, but that will be completed prior to the 2024 event in March.

  • NO SUPPORT CREW ACCESS - due to parking limitations, Support Crews are NOT permitted at Checkpoint 1 (Stoak), it's now staff only.
