How to get there

Get full directionsBy Car
Chester Zoo is well signposted from the main roads in Chester, these brown signs can be seen as you approach the city.
Follow the A41 until you reach a roundabout with a large wooden ark on it. From here, follow signs for the zoo.
Please do not turn down Flag Lane North as it is a dead end.
Parking
Parking is free at the event, and there are disabled parking spaces close to the entrance of the zoo. Blue badges must be displayed to use disabled parking.
By Bike
The Chester 'Pink Route' runs from the city centre to the main entrance, and the 'Brown Route' travels along the canal.
By Train
The zoo is only a few miles from Chester Station and Bache Station and both have good transport links.
By Bus
If you’re travelling from Chester you can take the Number 1 service from Chester Bus Exchange or the X1 bus links Chester Train Station to Chester Zoo.
If you’re travelling from Liverpool you can also take the Number 1 service or the X1 service.

There will be a 90 minute cut-off time in place at the event.
Race Pack
Race Packs must be collected on the day of the event, before the start of your race, from registration. Please be aware that you will not receive anything in the post.
Age Requirements
Entrants must be 15 and older to enter the event.
Bag Drop
While it is recommended that entrants leave their belongings in their car, there will be an informal bag drop in the event village.
To use the bag drop please collect a baggage label from the information desk and attach it to your bag before handing it in. Race numbers need to be shown at collection to ensure runners are collecting the right bags.
Toilets
There will be portable toilets at the event village.
Refreshments
There will be water provided at the 5k point of the race as well as the finish line.
Fancy Dress
Fancy dress and face paint will not be permitted due to the risk of frightening animals within the zoo.
