Route information
The tour starts and ends next to Charing Cross station - where you can make the most of the facilities prior to the tour.
Led by a Christmas-loving guide from Secret London Runs, you'll make your merry way in a small group of similar paced runners, through the very best of London's Christmas lights, trees and window displays. Festive tunes will be playing as you make your way from the start at Charing Cross through all the main displays in Mayfair and London’s West End - including Carnaby Street, Regent Street, Seven Dials and the spectacular trees at Somerset House, the Connaught, Trafalgar Square and beyond. They are called Secret London Runs, so the exact route, and all the festive sights along the way, are kept under wraps until the night.
You and your group will stop briefly at each of the main displays for photos and you’ll even be treated to a little festive history and information about the lights at each stop.
Duration
Allow 2 hours for the 10k experience - and a little over 1 hour for the 5k. We stop regularly and briefly so you can take in the beauty of the lights and get photos in the best festive spots.
Pace and Dates
The 5k and 10k tours are running from late November all through December. Each date has a guide pace to keep you in your comfort zone and this varies each night. This tour is available at a "gentle jingle pace". Take a look at the dates and paces below, and book onto one of the many other dates availableExternalLink if this isn't the right one for you.
Please select the pace that you usually run at:
Festively fast: for those who usually run sub-10 minute miles (you usually run 10k in under 1 hour).
Merrily medium: for those who usually run 10-12 minute miles (you usually run 10k in just over 1 hour - 1 hour 15 minutes).
Gentle jingle: for those who usually run 12-13 minute miles (you usually run 10k in 1 hour 15 minutes - 1 hour 20 minutes.
Walk/run intervals: "jeffing" - you'll be mixing up short intervals of gentle jogging with walking. You'll aim for a 1 minute of jogging to 30 seconds of walking ratio, but will work with the group to make sure everyone is comfortable on the night.
