This event has passed. Congratulations to all the participants. Get race results and photos.

A women only race on undulating town roads - tough in places. We first held the event in 1991 and, encouraged by the very warm reception from those taking part, we have continued ever since.

The Club has traditionally always had a strong womens section and a commitment to encourage womens running. As a demonstration of this, the club joined together with the City of Salford to host a 5.25 mile run. Based on an idea from one of our club members, Marie Carvath, we first held the event in 1991 and encouraged by the very warm reception to the event from those taking part we have continued with the event ever since.

The route as been accurately measured by BAF (British Athletics Federation) at 5.25miles and is recognised by the British Association of Road Races (BARR).

I've run it a few times as fairly local to me. Great ladies only run although they do do it again for all. Friendly Marshalls and good for all abilities

Well organised, loved the number of marshals and the encouragement from marshals and runners. Lovely atmosphere.

Perhaps an elevation of the course (though common sense should have warned me that the downhill was going to have to be followed by some uphill!)

Everything was excellent except for one thing, one small vital missing ingredient. The halfway mark was I believe as we were coming up (especially) Lancaster Road. I think that there should have been a welcome cup of water. I had a gel but at the end of the day, this run wasn't much short of a 10km race and there is always water half way round. This is the first run I have ever taken part in over 5km where there has been no water station.

Great marshalled race. All junctions were covered with a Marshall who was on the ball the whole time. Cars stopped to let us past but consideration was also given to cars if they were able to pull out. All were very supportive, even though Im not local. Coming from Norfolk we dont have the hills that you do so the last one was a killer. Really enjoyed it and even got a pb, bonus! Its a race Id be happy to do again when visiting my cousin. Im glad she signed us up to it :)
