Route information
The Clarendon is a beautiful, off-road trail Marathon. The route takes runners from Salisbury to Winchester along the historic Clarendon Way. The route stays off-road for 90% of the journey, following country tracks and paths, many of which haven't changed in centuries.
The route takes in some beautiful local villages along the way, as well as the Roman Road to Broughton. From the halfway point the route takes runners through to Houghton and then across the River Test to Kings Somborne. Having raced through the woods in the final section runners will arrive to the finish at the end of this challenging but stunning run.
As well as the Marathon there is a Half Marathon and a Mini Run which follows the last 5 miles. These other distances mean that this event is open to runners of all abilities. As well as this there is an option to run the full Marathon route as a relay team.
There will be 13 drinks stations in total on the Marathon course and 7 on the Half Marathon course. Please bring your own bottle or cup to be refilled at these stations. Due to covid restrictions there will not be any food at these stations, so please bring your own.
