Route information
This off-road point-to-point marathon will put your running ability to the test. The course will take you across Clarendon Way, all the way to Winchester. The trail is nearly completely on trails and country tracks. There will also be a Half marathon race, a team relay, or even a mini-marathon race as well as a free children's race too.
The route takes in some beautiful local villages along the way, as well as the Roman Road to Broughton. From the halfway point the route takes runners through to Houghton and then across the River Test to Kings Somborne. Having raced through the woods in the final section runners will arrive at the finish at the end of this challenging but stunning run.

You can use the free park and ride service at South Winchester before the race and take the bus to the start then run back.

Parking for Relay Marathon
Parking will be available at the following locations for runners taking on Legs 2, 3 and 4 of the Relay.

  • Transition 2: Broughton, Rectory Lane, SO20 8AB
  • Transition 3: Farley Mount Monument
Please be aware that for Relay Transitions 1 and 3 there will not be any bus routes to and from these locations.

Please pick an appropriate start time for your ability. There are cut-off times at the checkpoints and water stations on the second half of the course.
Race Packs
All race packs must be collected on the day from registration.
Water stations
Please bring your own water bottle or cup for the water stations, jugs will be provided at water stations to refill them.
Prizes
There will be a number of prizes up for grabs for the full marathon, half marathon for the top three finishers. Also, the following categories will be accommodated for:
  • Full marathon: under 40, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 plus.
  • Half marathon: under 40, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 plus.
  • Relay: First place for mixed, male, female teams
Age advice If under the age of 18 a responsible adult must be present on the day.
Even though the event organiser does not enforce a minimum age they have outlined some advisory minimum ages for runners:
  • Full Marathon: 18 years or older
  • Half Marathon: 16 years or older
  • Mini 5 mile: Children under the age of 11 should be accompanied by an adult

Are there any age restrictions for the Clarendon Marathon?
Under 18s can take part in the event, with the permission of parents. A responsible adult must be available and contactable on the day of the event. Please write this contact number on the back of your race number.
