Welcome to the Corfe Castle Conquest, the ultimate self-navigated trail race that challenges runners to visit multiple checkpoints within the allotted time. Starting at the Blue Pool nature reserve next to the iconic Corfe Castle, this race takes you through a variety of terrains, including heathland, woodland, rocky outcrops, and rolling hills.
Each checkpoint has a fixed value of 100 points. However, the available points for each checkpoint are equally distributed among the visitors who reach it. The more visitors a checkpoint has, the lower the points each individual receives. You'll need to strategise and decide which checkpoints to aim for, as it's unlikely you'll be able to visit all of them within the time limit. With steep ascents and descents, rocky terrain, and muddy trails, this race will test your endurance, strength, and trail-running skills.
The course offers breathtaking views of the Purbeck Hills and the Jurassic Coast, making you feel like you're running in a postcard. Fuel up, grab your trail shoes, and get ready to conquer the epic terrain of the Corfe Castle Conquest while taking in the natural beauty of the region. Join us for an unforgettable experience that will leave you breathless. Adventure awaits!

Scoring Format
How many checkpoints can you visit in the time limit? The available points for each checkpoint are divided equally among the visitors who reach it. The more visitors a checkpoint has, the fewer points each person or team will get.
Reaching Checkpoints
Keep your eyes peeled for our bright and cheery marshal in a hi-vis Epic Trail checkpoint jersey as you approach each checkpoint. They'll be handing out checkpoint tokens, which are like gold nuggets on this adventure. These tokens are an essential part of the scoring system, so make sure you hold onto them tightly! Each token you collect shows which checkpoint you reached, and when you hand them over at the end of the race, we'll tally up your final score.
Checkpoint locations, including a GPX checkpoint file download can be found here.
*** Note *** This is a self-supported race and no refreshments are offered at checkpoints. It is your responsibility to bring and carry suitable food and water for your time out on the course.
Race Distance
With this running challenge, the distance is entirely up to you! You have the freedom to handpick the checkpoints and decide how many to conquer. So, lace up those running shoes and push yourself as far as you want to go!

Do I have to stay for the results and prize giving?
No, it is entirely up to you whether you stay for the results and prize giving after the race. Due to the nature of the scoring format, it's difficult to tell whether you will or won't be receiving a prize, so we would recommend staying if you can.
