Since 2013, Run the Wild has been dedicated to delivering incredible trail running adventures in the UK and European Alps. Trail running is the ultimate pursuit of freedom, of feeling alive and it's something we are really passionate about! There’s nothing that compares to the feeling of running along mountain paths and for a moment leaving behind your busy life. Start YOUR amazing journey with Run the Wild! The company was founded to bring this experience of running trails in the wild; free of the usual race and logistical burdens, to you. We love exploring places, not just running races. We love meeting people and having an adventure together. We like races too, but this is where our heart really lies and if we can help you have more fun running trails; whether to see the sun rise over Mt Blanc as you climb up over a mountain pass, or indeed to check out a future race route then we will be happy! Join us running off into the unknown, the path flowing underneath your feet, snow capped mountains glinting in the sun, clouds melting away in the valleys far below. Setting your heart and mind free... Exploring places... not running races. This is what it feels like to be alive! “The mountains are calling and I must go.” John Muir, Meet the team.

Route description
Route description

Your running adventure (choose either the 2 or 3 day option) will begin on the Friday Evening with a 10 km night run around the Loe Pool, where legend has it that King Arthur threw Excalibur into the cold, murky water!

Saturday morning we’ll head off along the coast path for about 20 kms to The Lizard, England’s most Southerly point. Here, transport will be waiting to take you back to your accommodation. Saturday evening you’ll be taken the local town of Porthleven and the 18th Century Ship Inn where you will have an evening meal followed by some local entertainment.

If you’re only with us for 2-days your adventure will end after breakfast on the Sunday morning. If you decide to choose the 3-day adventure we’ll be joining the local Hash House Harriers and heading out onto the trails around the Porthleven. The hash will finish at the Ship Inn where there will be light snacks and food available at the bar. On Sunday evening we will be showing some films and discussing trail running adventures. There will also be an opportunity to ask the Run the Wild team any adventure / running related questions you may have.

Logistics and schedule

Arrival at the accommodation will be from 5.00pm on the Friday afternoon. The event will finish at 9.30am on Monday morning. (The 2 day option will finish at 9.30am on Sunday morning). Full details regarding the itinerary and timings will be found in your booking pack.

Many people who run have partners as well as children! We will endeavour to cater for people who want to involve their family in the adventure. On most of our trips you can bring your family along to stay with you in the accommodation and this is particularly relevant on the Intro to the Alps where you will have free time in the afternoon so that you can spend time with the important people in your life who support you in these amazing adventures. If you have any further questions, please get in touch!
